Top 5 JPMS Products: Extra-Body Finishing Spray®, Sculpting Foam™, Awapuhi Wild Ginger® Texturizing Sea Spray®, Awapuhi Wild Ginger® Shine Spray™, Invisiblewear® Undone Texture Hairspray.
Best Hair Advice: A great blowout is the foundation to any hairstyle, especially when you are reworking the hair into multiple looks.
Preferred Shade of Blonde: I will always love a good, creamy platinum blonde.
Style Icon: Tilda Swinton.
Favorite Thing to Watch: Fashion documentaries. I love to hear designers’ thought process and the journey that led them to where they are today.
Colin Caruso, Artistic Director of Color, @colincaruso
Most Used Color Formula: the color XG® 6N+6A 20 volume as a root touch-up. In addition to that, I am a big user of Skylight™ 30 volume and The Demi 9PA as a top coat.
Best Piece of Advice: Do not be an emotional colorist. Hair color is a science, not a “feeling.” I always tell myself I am not in the business of being right or wrong; I’m in the business of making people happy. Hair Hack 101: Sometimes, your end result isn’t exactly what you were expecting. Use Color Craft® at the shampoo bowl to tweak and condition your color at the same time.
Favorite Movie Hair Moment: Youngblood, an ’80s hockey movie starring Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze. Hockey hair was always my hair goal growing up. Something about those long locks flowing out the back of a helmet…stellar!
Currently Inspired By: Following my friends on Instagram. It’s nice to see what everyone is up to even though we are thousands of miles apart. P.S. Tag me in your work, I’d love to see it!
Noogie Thai, Artistic Director of Style, @noogiethai
Most Used Hair Tool: The Express Ion Unclipped 3-In-1 Curling Iron. The compact, interchangeable barrels are perfect for my mobile life. I have 3 plus irons in one. Winning!
Wildest Editorial Shoot: There was a tiger on set and the trainer warned everyone not to make any sudden movements, or if you’re scared, stay away because the tiger will sense it and react. Needless to say, I was nowhere near the striking zone of that kitty!
Life Hack: When I’m stuck in L.A. traffic, I let my mind wonder and meditate; that’s when I get a lot of my ideas.
Music For Working: I love listening to all kinds of music from mellow, acoustic, lyrical, country, bluegrass, musical and pop to dance. It all depends on my mood.
Drink Pick: Durian smoothies are actually pretty good. Everyone should try one!
